Below is a summary of the terms and conditions that we ask our guests to abide by during their stay with us. In return we will endeavour to offer you the best possible stay in our home.
If you have any queries about Tighnamara please email tighnamara.arran@gmail.com
Check-in is 4pm and check-out is 10:00 am. These timings are set by our housekeepers and therefore are unmoveable. Upon check-out, please leave all doors and windows locked, and the key securely in the key safe.
Payment must be made by bank transfer. A deposit of 25% of the holiday price is required to secure the booking, with the balance payable eight weeks before the commencement of the holiday. If booking the holiday less than eight weeks before the commencement of the holiday, the full holiday price is payable upon booking.
A good house keeping deposit of £250 will be added to your booking.
When we receive your provisional booking request, we’ll be in touch to arrange payment.
Payments in any currency other than GBP are subject to a 5% surcharge.
We work hard to ensure that Tighnamara is in great condition for your stay. Please treat the house with care and leave it in the state you found it. We thoroughly clean the house between bookings, but it would be appreciated if you could leave bins empty and return all furniture to its original position before you leave the house.
Please report any damage or breakages as soon as possible so we can organise repairs or replacements. Occasional breakages of small items (glasses/crockery) is to be expected, but guests are responsible for paying for all damage or breakages to larger items. If damage occurs (beyond fair wear and tear) or excessive cleaning is required, then a claim may be made on the good housekeeping deposit provided. If the property is left in a clean and tidy condition with no extra cleaning required, then your Good Housekeeping Deposit will be returned in full within 14 days of your departure date.
We ask that you show courtesy to the neighbours of Tighnamara during your stay, particularly in terms of noise. Please park considerately and do not block the driveway of the next door track for Hollinhaven. Please note that the owners cannot accept responsibilty for damage to your vehicle when parked at Tighnamara.
Please contact us as soon as possible if you wish to cancel your booking. There is no cancellation fee if you wish to change your booking to another available date (providing you give us at least 3 weeks notice), although you may have to pay extra if the price of your new holiday date is higher than that of your original booking.
If you cancel your booking within eight weeks of the holiday commencement date, the cancellation fee is 100%. If you cancel more than eight weeks in advance of the holiday commencement date, the cancellation fee is 25% (equivalent to the deposit that you will have paid).
We recommend you have some form of insurance that will cover your costs should you have to cancel your holiday at the last minute.
In the unfortunate event that we have to make changes to your booking (for example if the property is suffering from damage that requires immediate repair), we will refund all sums paid by you for this booking. This will be our only obligation or liability to you in such circumstances.
If lockdown restrictions are in place in the West of Scotland as a result of Covid-19 and we legally cannot accommodate guests, we will refund what you have paid for your holiday. If however, the restrictions do not affect the house itself, we cannot offer a refund if you are unable to travel from your home area – this is because our own insurance no longer covers us for this. For this reason, we strongly recommend you have insurance that covers you in the event of you having to cancel because of a lockdown in your local area. We are, however, happy to allow you to postpone your holiday in accordance with our standard cancellation policy above.
The maximum occupancy of Tighnamara is 8 people + 2 babies (for which we provide only one travel cot) and two dogs (no dog beds provided). We reserve the right to terminate your stay with no refund if you have more than this staying at the house.
We cannot be held liable if services (water/electricity/internet) in the house fail. However, please inform us if there is a problem and we’ll report it to the supplier to get it rectified as quickly as possible.
Smoking is strictly NOT permitted inside Tighnamara.
Children of all ages are welcome at Tighnamara. One cot and one high chair are available. Please note, for safety, the bedroom drawer units are not fixed to the walls. Guests at Tighnamara must accept responsibility for their own and their children’s safety; the owners cannot be held responsible for injuries.
Tighnamara is dog-friendly but we ask that you bring no more than two dogs with you, that they have their own suitable bedding, are not allowed on the furniture and are not left unattended at the property at any time. Please also ensure that you pick up after your dog if they toilet in the garden or surrounding areas. As the house is dog-friendly it may not be suitable for those who are allergic to dogs. If there’s any additional cleaning required as a result of dog hair or mess at the end of your stay, we may need to charge you for this.
Tighnamara is not wheelchair accessible and the steps to the front and rear of the property may not be suitable for those with limited mobility (there is a handrail at the front door but no ramp). However the property is all on one level and the two en suite shower rooms have low level shower trays making access suitable for those with limited mobility, however they are not large in size overall.
Guests at Tighnamara must accept responsibility for their own and their children’s safety; the owners cannot be held responsible for injuries.
